Humanitarian and Development Trust Initiative

Humanitarian and Development Trust Initiative (HDI South Sudan) is a national non-profit and non-governmental organization founded in 2020 by a team of professional and dynamic sons and daughters of South Sudan. 

The organization is registered with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) with registration number 2952. Driven by the desire to respond to the perpetual humanitarian and development needs in the country, HDI strives to build a strong, resilient and sustainable programs to address the recurrent community needs.

HDI has it’s headquarter in Juba at Atlabara B. Kator Payam, Juba, South Sudan with a coordination office in Yambio Town. HDI South Sudan has established offices in Mundri East, Mundri West, Mvolo Maridi and Ibba counties of Western Equatoria State and scaling up the intervention in Jonglei State in the Counties of Akobo East & West and Greater Pibor Administrative Area to support the communities in health programming.

HDI perceives that humanitarian and development programs that are responsive to community needs through research, advocacy, enhancing access to information, livelihood assets and protection of vulnerable members of communities is the vehicle to sustainable community development.

The organization was formed to implement programs under health and nutrition, livelihoods WASH, education, and protection.
Currently, HDI is running two projects in the three counties under Livelihoods and Health sectors.

Our Mission

To undertake sustainable humanitarian development response programs to the vulnerable communities with focus on health and nutrition, livelihood, WASH, education, protection and peace building to improve their quality of life and be self-reliant.
